Countdown to Total Confusion 2013I found this blurb on the Total Confusion website under "Industry Guests" for 2012:
http://www.totalcon.com Mark Edwards: Mark began his writing career with Floyd Wesel (AEG) on some 7th Sea's projects then moved onto projects with Margaret Weis Productions. In 2006, he met John Dunn, mission coordinator for ShadowRun with Catalyst Game Labs. He has contributed to several ShawdowRun missions as well as other projects. He is currently working on Lower 9 (Call of Cthulhu), Half a dozen adventures (Wolfshead Engendering), and Adventures in Altamira. (7th Sea Living Campaign). Will Mark be an Industry Guest for 2013 as well? Do you suppose that he will be signing autographs at an autograph signing?
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013They haven't said anything specific but given that I'm now the Origins Award Winning Author Mark Edwards, I'm betting I'll be asked back (that coupled with the fact that once they ask you to be a guest, they try to ask you back every year. I've been an industry guest since, I believe, 2009)
But more important to me than the industry guest status is the fact that I've won the TC Best RPG Judge twice. I even keep the trophies right here next to my computer (they keep me warm on those long lonely nights without games...). If you really want my autograph, I'll see what I can do (I believe Wil Wheaton charges $25, I'd be willing to settle for half that) And I REALLY need to update that blurb
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013Oh and I also should have added, today it is officially *6 months to TC2013* (and the premere of Episode 5 - Evil Intent, and Episode 6 - The Balance of Profit)
Just so its on the record, 2013 will be the last year Episodes 1 & 2 will be available. Year 4 they will be retired to make way for newer adventures. We've also decided to hold off on the B.I.O adventures as there aren't yet enough members of the various secret societies to make it worthwhile. But never fear, they're on the "ToDo" list.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013So what you are saying is that you are the only GM at TC... Because I know where you rank in the 7th sea evil GMs club.
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013I thought it was a secret that you won an award at Origins.

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean, don't be mean...

Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013Just so the rest of you realize this, any trash talk from me is just winding Grace up to go completely gonzo at Con on the Cob. She still owes me for this chest wound nearly a decade ago.

Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013For those of us whose places of employment now filter Internet sites, may we have the dates for the Con in 2013? Thanks!
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013It always starts on the Thursday after President's Day. As to what day that is next year I don't know.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
February 21-24, 2013
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013I'm organizing my plans now: likely two different motels, Charlie Card, "T" schedules for commuter rail and subway, etc.
What day will you schedule the PA and what will the time-slot likely be? Thanks!
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
I like running the PA as the big sendoff, so I want to make sure that everyone has a chance to play through everything before the PA. Since Sunday is just DOMINGO GIGANTE!, we do PAs the last slot on Saturday night (usually 7-11pm). That said, nothing is finalized (well it is for me, but TotalCon might have some changes they want to make*) until TC accepts my event schedule.
You're quite welcome *Although, and I have said this before, 'problems' usually arise from turning in events late and I turn mine in on the first week that event submission opens.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
So. I'll find a local hotel for Saturday night. The last train leaves Mansfield at 11:49 PM, and it's a nice walk from the Holiday Inn to the train station. (Not to mention that there reportedly is a porn facility right next door to hotel #2.)
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
You know, I was about to ask for clarification but then decided I really don't want to know.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013Mark, if that was a selling point, he would stay there the entire weekend.

Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013I stayed at the Ramada in Milwaukee at least ten times for GenCon.
Next door was an interesting place as well. I'm surprised there wasn't a package deal offered; although, now that I think about it, the place was lively at all hours.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013So, Mark:
Will you be running two games plus the PA on Saturday? I may just attend the Con for one day and see the sites in Boston for the rest of my stay.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013If/when I ever go back to Boston for any sort of trip, I'd check out Chau Chow City in Chinatown in a heartbeat.

Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
Yup I'll be doing the usual Saturday thing (running the two newest, 5&6 then the PA). So your plan should work*. *That is with the usual proviso that TC doesn't need any changes...
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
Well, thanks LG! The one on 83 Essex Street or the one at 45 Beach Street a block away? Both are barely two city blocks from South Station, which I would be accessing on the Commuter Line every day!
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
Excellent! There is a Red Roof Inn about midway between the Holiday Inn and the Mansfield Commuter Station.
Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013
I'm familiar with the one on Essex myself. The Beach St. location must have came in after I moved. Definitely go for the dim sum lunch if you can. "You're still mad at me about that whole 'gun-pointing' thing, aren't you?" -- Fortunato Valeri

Re: Countdown to Total Confusion 2013Call for event submission just went live, so I naturally had to get everything in immediately. Now unless I made some egregious mistake in my typing, this should be the schedule
